Murray State!

(13) Murray State upset (4) Vanderbilt in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament on Thursday. First tournament win for the OVC in a long time. (besides last year's opening game win)

As a big fan of the OVC (Eastern Kentucky University) this win just got me really excited. So I had to post.

Big day in college basketball today as the NCAA tournament's first round kicks off at noon.

Upset watch:
Murray State over Vandy - I love this Murray State team. I've seen them play 3 times in person, they are very athletic and can force turnovers and for me, those are the simple ingredients to upset in this tournament.

UTEP over Butler - In this one, I feel as if UTEP's size will get to Butler by the end of the game. Butler really depends on the three-ball. Also, Butler has a large streak coming into this one. as they are on a 20 game win-streak in the Horizon league and finished 18-0.

Must-watch games:

BYU and Florida - This one is big because many people are doubting Florida. I'm one of those people. It'll be interesting to see what kind of Florida team shows up today.

Wake Forest and Texas - If Texas can pull this one out, they could really give Kentucky a good 2nd round game.

St. Mary's and Richmond - Two big "mid-major" schools. Should be a good match up leading into the game against Villanova.

Selection Sunday

Today - One of the most anticipated days in the year for a college basketball fan. The day that fans will be able to find out where their team is seeded in the NCAA Tournament. Except us. The Tar Heel fans.

For the first time since 2003. UNC wont appear in the NCAA Tournament brackets. Though, the Tar Heel's season isn't quite over. It has been reported that Roy Williams will accept the NIT bid in order to give the current team some more real game time experience. But we won't know that until they reveal it in the NIT selection show at 9:00 on ESPNU. So, as today won't be an extremely exciting day like it normally is for the fans of North Carolina Basketball, it will give all of us a look on how it feels for those bubble teams who don't quite make it and are forced to play in the NIT... Kind of...
